Drysuits* (required for spring sailors)

Layers (fleece, polartech, performance fabrics-no cotton)

Winter Hat (non-cotton)

Socks (Neoprene, Wool)

Sunglasses

Drysuits (about $500) are required for spring sailing due to the cold water and air temps.  If you own a drysuit, please check if carefully for holes that need repair. The coaches have also offered to check drysuits during chalk talks and have given us repair contact info.  Suits must be sent out and may take a month or more to repair.  Chicago Yacht Club has a few drysuits to loan to new sailors during tryouts or in emergency situations.  As the weather warms up, sailors will transition to spray gear. (FYI for new sailors: the cost of new gear, including a drysuit, will be close to $1000, and all gear can be purchased locally at Laser Performance in Evanston or online via various vendors)
